What ISO Certification Means

Inspection and documents

Super Mech Industries works to an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, certificate No. 09114716A, issued by Integral Certification Ltd. Bores and keyways are machined to H7 or to the tolerance on your order. A material test certificate is available on request.

If your plant's quality plan needs specific documents, name them on the enquiry so SMI can confirm what will be supplied for that order before manufacture. These include the certificate type, a dimensional report, hardness results, third-party inspection or non-destructive testing.

Which material certificate to ask for

Under EN 10204, a type 3.1 inspection certificate reports specific test results for the material actually supplied and is validated by an inspection representative independent of the manufacturing department. A type 2.2 test report gives results from non-specific inspection, meaning tests on the same product type rather than on your delivery. Steel plants and OEMs with a formal quality plan usually ask for 3.1. State the type you need, because the two are not interchangeable.

How do I verify a supplier's ISO certification?

Ask for the certificate number and the certifying body, then check it with that body. A scanned certificate image or an 'ISO certified' line on a listing page is a claim, not evidence. Genuine manufacturers provide the number without hesitation.

What is ZED certification?
